We are proud of the MI CGR PhD student Thomas Dussarrat’s research project, was recognized as the best thesis of 2023 by the RFMF.

Thomas Dussarrat

The project developed by Thomas Dussarrat, PhD student at the University of Bordeaux, under the supervision of our Associate Researcher Rodrigo Gutierrez, has been recognized as the best thesis of 2023 by the Réseau Francophone de Métabolomique et Fluxomique (RFMF, Francophone Network of Metabolomics and Fluxomics).

The main objective of the project was to study the biochemical adjustments of extreme plant species of the Atacama Desert using an integrated approach from ecosystem to metabolites. His thesis, titled “Analysis of metabolic characteristics of extreme plant species of the Atacama Desert”, was a co-tutelle, jointly supervised project between the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and the University of Bordeaux, under the supervision of Rodrigo Gutiérrez and the co-tutelage of Dominique Rolin and Pierre Pétriacq.

In addition to being recognized as the best thesis of 2023, this project had already been distinguished with the 2022 Monique Garnier-Semancik award, which selects the best thesis of the Bordeaux Doctoral School. This recognition underlines the quality and impact of the research conducted in collaboration between the Catholic University of Chile and the University of Bordeaux.
