The Cultural and Scientific Office of the Spanish Embassy in Chile and its partners hold a meeting on Spanish research in Antarctica
The Cultural and Scientific Office of the Spanish Embassy in Chile, together with the Spanish Cultural Centre in Santiago and the Association of Spanish Scientists and Researchers in Chile (ACIEHCh), organised a major meeting on Spanish research in Antarctica, held on 11 December.
The event, held at the Spanish Cultural Centre in Santiago, featured visiting scientist Miguel Ángel Ojeda Cárdenes, coordinator of the Spanish Antarctic campaign and a member of the CSIC Marine Technology Unit. The programme included an enriching round-table discussion in which ACIEHCh scientists Cristóbal Galván, an environmental chemist at Universidad Mayor, and Beatriz Díez, a microbiologist at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and principal investigator at the Millennium Institute Center for Genome Regulation (CRG), shared their perspectives and research.
The meeting provided a space to exchange knowledge and experience in Antarctic research, strengthening scientific ties between Spain and Chile.
